when does flattery become plagiarism?
For a few years now I’ve been dabbling in getting my style right for photography, both in club/night life and portraiture. I’ve been fortunate enough to find several photographers who are capable of pulling of the style that I want to achieve. But I think that looking back onto it, while I strive to be as technically able as the people that I follow, I feel that the old phrase...

This, what you see around you is all just an adventure.
Between digital and film
Digital photography is great because it’s given me the opportunity to experiment at a relatively affordable level. The main problem I have been having lately is trying to get the “character” look of film. One of the main reasons/excuses I have for not being online much it trying to develop the images I produce to look like film.
It’s strange to think that after all the...

Just got back from a festival
Smelling a bit ripe. But had an awesome weekend with some interesting cars and people. Looking forward to a shower, a comfy night sleep and no $7 morning coffee that tastes and looks like brown disappointment.
There is a certain charm about finding yourself in places you wouldn’t normally go. New faces, new challenges and new memories firmly embedded that will last with you for a life time.
Take the opportunity to go out your way and find something new and push your boundaries to experience “behind the scenes” what you would take for granted on a daily basis.
Sometimes you just have to let go. Inhibitions, fears and concerns are irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Life is too short for what ifs. Instead choose “Why not!”
to push my limits
Each month I want to set myself a task, a challenge in which I push the limits of my skills and imagination to a level I wish to consistantly work at. I am open to suggestions/requests. But for this month I already have something set. In the next few days or weeks, I will have my first personal challenge showcase here on tumblr.
to feel like a kid again
To see a picture is a daily occurrence in which little or no emotion properly conveys to the viewer. To find a photograph that captivates you to the point in which you actively seek out new work from the photographer is a rare event in which you feel humbled when they strike a conversation with you.
You could say that it is the geeky photographers equivalent of being star struck, but there are...
So I'm now tumblr'd
So, I’ve just got myself a tumblr account. Mainly because there are a lot of things that inspire me both in the realm of the internet, and in that little thing called real life. I would like to share a collection of my thoughts, inspirations, ideas, and up and coming projects.
I welcome your input and ask that if you visit my portfolio site www.mediacocktail.co.uk and like any of my work,...
I had a similar idea to this about 5 years ago to create a short on life’s transitions. 5 years ago, I was still running on film and unfortunately the costs were prohibitively expensive. Now that I have gone over to digital and things are starting to work in my favour, maybe I can still complete this. The idea had constantly fascinated me, all I need is a good soundtrack to some up someone else’s...
